ETF Covered Calls 10-05-2007

I’m still heavily short this market although I have traded and earned some money in my arbitrage account.  The bulls are lining up for the stretch run but that won’t happen until a correction in my opinion besides, nothing has changed, we are at the BEGINNING of the sub-prime mess not at the end of it and people are acting like we just came out of the housing mortgage mess and it’s the moon from here.  Get real.

Sorry I didn’t post on Friday but I went out of town and didn’t have access to a computer. I went on a much needed 3 day get away to the middle of nowhere and I didn’t take my computer or wireless card with me. Here is the data from yesturday. It’s a bit stale now but in line with what’s going on in the market. Not much!

Only 5 for business days till Options Expiry next week and there’s the big Fed meeting on Tuesday.   I see a lot of people betting on rate cuts and rate increases so there will definitely be a slaughter.  I’m glad it’s finally here, I’ve been on the sidelines for nearly a month but I suspect that it’ll be worth it.   No matter what the Fed does, I see the market whipsawing  this week.

High Yield ETF Covered Calls as of September 7th 2007

What an amazing week of ups and downs.  I’m still in 100% cash until AFTER the Fed meeting.  It’s been hard to stay on the sidelines because there are some opportunities out there.  I meant to buy FXY on the last dip but didn’t get around to it and it popped $1.5 today!  Oh well, I’m better off in cash anyway.

Here are this weeks picks and for goodness sake, be careful out there.

Note:  I tried using data from Google Finance and just realized that some of the data is off.  I’m beginning to think google finance sucks.  The picks are mostly correct but do your own due diligence!

High Yield ETF Covered Calls as of August 31st 2007

All this government meddling in free markets is really getting me down. Here are this weeks ETF-Cashinator picks but I’m still hanging on to cash until after the Fed meeting. Markets always seem to rally at the end of a quarter so I’m expecting the market to tank over the next week or two but since next week is a holiday week, I’d expect the downturn to happen the latter.

High Yield ETF Covered Calls as of August 24th 2007

With the turmoil in the credit industry and the looming Fed meeting in Mid September it’s simply too uncertain for me to get back in the game right now.  The ETF-Cashinator™ and ETF-Putinator™ though keep cranking out some prospects.  What’s new this week is my new ETF-Cashinator:Currency™ which takes a look at currency ETFs and covered calls and naked put action on it.   I’ve got the major ETF currencies in the report:  Yen, Euro, Sterling, Swedish Krona, Swiss Franc, Loonie and Peso.  Check it out. I’ll post a new page which describes the report headers some time next week.
