We’re at a critical juncture, non-believers will face the consequences of their actions and heretics will feel the wrath of the ETF-Cashinator!

OIH – Assigned

Well it’s official, I was assigned this weekend on OIH so I sold off 400 shares at $110 and it looks like the market is on shaky ground again so I’m a little relieved to be in cash.  We’ll see what happens the next few weeks.

Sorry for the late posting but I have been tied up all day long with malfunctioning internet to boot.   First, looks like OIH closed at $118 which means I’ll finally be assigned and revert to cash on those 400 shares.  I’m happy about that!   Second, it’s September expiry so it’s time to look at the ETF-Cashinator.  I’ve gone ahead and included calls and puts for October, November and December.   Take a look at all of them and determine if the great yields are “risk free.”  I’ve been doing this for over three years exclusively and I can tell you that things are still out of whack.   Pay particular attention to December calls and puts!

ETF Covered Calls 09-11-2009

Another roller coaster week and OIH has been vacillating between $102 and $113 all week so I’m hoping to get called to cash out.   The price of oil and gas is defying the laws of gravity and I fear it is only hot air keeping OIH up right now.   We’ll see how next weeks expiry treats the investor; here is the ETF-Cashinator report and I’ve included October calls/puts too!

ETF Covered Calls 09-04-2009

Another flat week for the market but let’s see what the eclectic ETF Cashinator has to say about it!

I took a peak at October and November options, October is garbagely volatile and November is surprisingly stable so my thesis may hold true -  a crash sometime between now and October – originally I expected a crash in September because the Fed was supposed to stop buying treasuries this month but they extended it to October.    Of course, the Fed and Treasury can keep pulling rabbits out of their hat so don’t bank on any of my advice.  I remain reluctant to get into this market because the rules and activities keep changing!
