What a day!  The Dow dropped 300+ points today ouch!  I had a feeling this was going to happen - too much bad news coming out:  gold near $1000/oz, oil at $100+ and the Dow was climbing - WTF!

Raked in $700 in my mini account today as I did a buy/write on Dow Double Long (DDM) and sold in-the-money calls DDMCT for March expiry. Bought 200 DDM @ $72.30 and Sold 2 DDMCT @ $3.60. If I get called I’ll lose about $0.30 per share as I sold the $72 strikes but I’m willing to take the risk. I’ll earn 4.98% (if not called) or 4.56% (if called) in 31 days.

Raked in $2000 today by selling 10 contracts on my existing DXD shares.   Sold 10 DXDCI @ $2.00 to rake in $2000.  This represents 3.3% return in 31 days and I’m feeling confident that I might get called on this to exit my position.  We’ll see how March expiry pans out.

I sold 7 EEBCA contracts today on my existing 700 EEB shares.  I needed to generate some returns even in this crappy market so I pulled the trigger.   I sold each for $1.30 so I raked in ~$900.00. This represents a 2.43% return in 37 days (expiry).
I still have outstanding options with DXD which should expire worthless tomorrow and I’ll look to sell juicy March calls for about $1.75 to rake in about $1700 next week!

I sold off UNG at $41.92 for a small profit.  I’m moving my mini-account back to cash because I’m going to experiment with my double down theory.  I’ll write more about that later and keep you posted.
